Terms of Use
Last updated: August 2026
1. Licence
Use of the Precept app is governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. The provider of the app within the meaning of that agreement is Jolene Lederer (see Imprint).
2. Free use
Precept can be used free of charge. Free use is limited to 5 decisions per calendar day and includes one rule set with templates, the history, the context flags and the help screen. The daily counter is kept locally on the device.
3. “Precept Pro” subscription
Precept Pro unlocks unlimited decisions, editing and creating rules, and all templates. There are two terms:
- Precept Pro Monthly: €1.99 per month
- Precept Pro Yearly: €9.99 per year
The price displayed in the App Store at the time of purchase, in your region and currency, always applies. Prices may vary by country and may include taxes.
Billing and renewal
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account (App Store) at purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically for the chosen term unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- The renewal amount is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Cancelling and managing
You manage and cancel the subscription in iOS Settings: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or in the app under Settings → Precept Pro → Manage subscription. After cancelling, Pro remains active until the end of the period already paid for. Switching between the monthly and yearly plan is also done through Apple's subscription management.
Restoring
If you have already bought Pro and the app does not show it (for example after switching devices), tap Restore purchases in the app. You must be signed in with the same Apple Account that made the purchase.
Refunds
Purchases in the App Store are handled by Apple, including refunds. Please use reportaproblem.apple.com. We have no access to this.
4. What Precept is and is not
Precept applies rules that you defined yourself and shows you a result derived from them. The app gives no advice, makes no decisions for you and is no substitute for professional counsel. You remain responsible for your decisions.
The safety feature recognises signs of self-harm on a best-effort basis and then shows emergency and crisis lines. It is an aid, not a guarantee. Precept is not a crisis service and does not replace professional help. In an emergency, call your country's emergency number.
5. Changes
We may adapt these terms if the app or the legal framework changes. The current version is always the one on this page; the date at the top shows its status.
