Support
These are the questions that come up most. If yours isn't here, write to support@tscholene.com. It goes straight to the developer.
Subscription and restore
What does the free version include?
5 decisions a day, one rule set with templates, the history, the context flags and the help screen. The counter resets at midnight.
What does Precept Pro cost?
€1.99 per month or €9.99 per year, each as an auto-renewing subscription through the App Store. The price shown in the App Store for your region applies. Pro unlocks unlimited decisions, editing and creating rules, and all templates.
I bought Pro but the app doesn't show it
In the app open Settings → Precept Pro → Restore purchases. You need to be signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with. If that doesn't help, send us Apple's receipt at support@tscholene.com.
How do I cancel the subscription?
In iOS Settings under [your name] → Subscriptions, or in the app via Settings → Precept Pro → Manage subscription. Pro stays active until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.
Rules
How do rules work?
A rule has a trigger (keywords in your question, a context such as “tired”, a time window, or “always”), an outcome (Yes, No, Wait, Delegate or your own text) and a priority. Precept checks the rules from the highest priority down; the first one that matches decides. If none matches, your fallback applies.
Why did I get a different result than I expected?
The rule that fired is shown right under the result. Usually a rule with a higher priority matched first. Reorder priorities in the rules list or adjust the rule's strictness.
Can I edit rules or create my own?
Yes, with Precept Pro. In the free version you use the rule set from the templates and can switch individual rules on and off.
What is the fallback?
The outcome that applies when no rule matches. You set it during onboarding; with Precept Pro you can change it any time in the rules list.
Safety and help screen
Why did Precept show crisis numbers instead of a result?
Precept checks every input on the device for signs of self-harm. On a match the app deliberately gives no verdict, uses up no decision and stores nothing in the history. Instead it shows emergency and crisis lines for your country. Some questions no app should decide.
The detection fired on a harmless question
That can happen. Close the help sheet, change the text and ask again. If you like, send us the wording at support@tscholene.com. We keep improving the detection.
Where do the numbers come from, and how do I change the country?
The numbers are bundled with the app (13 countries plus a general note for all others) and were researched and cross-checked in August 2026. The country is suggested from your device's region; in the help sheet you can change it via the “Country” menu. You can open the help screen any time from Settings → Help & crisis lines.
A number is wrong or outdated
Please tell us right away at support@tscholene.com. We will fix it with the next update. Precept is not a crisis service and does not replace professional help. In an emergency, call your country's emergency number.
Deleting data
Where is my data?
Only on your device. Precept has no account and no server. Details in the privacy policy.
How do I delete history and rules?
In the app under Settings → Reset All Data. Your Pro status is unaffected because it is handled by Apple. If you delete the app, all data is gone.
Do I need to file a deletion request?
No. We hold no data about you that we could delete.
Contact
The fastest way is with these details: iPhone or iPad model, iOS version, app version (shown at the bottom of Settings), what you did and what happened instead.
